And the Winner Is.....

Natalie!!!

Did you see that PIE? Good Lord, I got fat just reading about it! Natalie, you'll be choosing our theme for the month of April. So you have a little bit of time to get back to us with your choice.

Why the wait? Welllll, my fault. You see, last month, we actually had a TIE, not just one winner. And I goofed it all up. Elizabeth and Mary tied, so we need to make that up to dear Elizabeth. So lady, get us a theme for March, okay? You have until the 5th of February to let us know what you have dreamed up. So sorry about that - we now have an official Vote Counter (thanks Jacque!) so that kind of screw up won't be a problem again!

And now, our February Theme, chosen by Mary the Food Librarian....

"Literary Pie (really, what did you expect from the Food Librarian?) Libraries have a wide range of books and materials...and "literary" simply means the written word. Your pie can be inspired by Shakespeare, John Grisham, the latest Chick Lit, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, or anything else that came from the fabulous imagination of your favorite author. The Food Librarian says: "Bonus points from me if you've visited your local library in the past year!" :) Have fun, and eat your words!"

Let's all post by the 7th of February, with voting on the 8th & 9th. 3:14pm on the 7th, of course!

If you haven't played along before, the rules are simple...make a pie. Blog about it sometime between now and the 7th...then email us and let us know! Be sure to provide a link and picture of your post!

Thanks to all of you for your wonderful entries...very impressive!

Susan

Resolution Breakers' Round-Up - VOTE HERE!

--Breaking News--
From the You Want Pies With That? Headquarters
This just in. In recent studies, 12 out of 15 bakers found that their New Year's Resolutions could be broken by adding various forms of chocolate to their pies. Of the 15 bakers in question, the two could be broken with a seemingly unthreatening ingredient - bananas, and one more with cherries. Is this trend a portent of things to come in 2009. This reporter thinks it could be. Good day, and good eating!

... And, we're back. Sorry. You already knew I was a dork, I guess I just wanted to confirm for you that it is my solemn vow to you that my ridiculous(ly bad) sense of humor will continue in 2009. I'm stepping in a bit here to help out since our fearless leader, Susan, is under the weather, but I wanted to let you know it isn't her fault I am a dork. I'm just built that way.

Anywho...

Speaking of 2009, here is our first round-up for the year. As reported above, we have one decadent selection of pies for you to choose from below. On to the voting!

Please remember as you are voting to include the blog name and, if you want to you can also include the name of the pie as shown below so that we can properly collect the votes.

Thanks to everyone who joined in the resolution breaking fun! Voting is now open and will continue through the 10th when we will announce the next theme and new winner!

Gimme a Minute??

Sorry Tarts, SLACKER here.
I am a bit, well, out of sorts, under the weather - sick-o right now. I thought at first that there was not going to be too much of an effort involved in posting the round-up, as I had only seen emails from a handful of you - but whoa! Lots more posted!! Great for you!
However, I cannot bear to read about them today. They involve food, a fact that my guts are not appreciative of at the moment. I will get to it, I promise! I am making an executive decision, though - new voting dates will be January 9 & 10. I will have the Roundup done by then - and hey? Anyone who wants in on this round still? Post by 3:14 on the 8th and I will include you.
Sorry about that everyone - but a BIG HUGE thanks to all who posted on ime! (I'll give brownie points to the on-time pies!!)

Thanks for sticking with the group - Man, do I ever love it.
