Theme One: "I Love that Movie!"

Huh?

Yep, the theme for our first month of pies is to pick a movie you love and make a pie based on it. For example, let's say you just LOVE little Elliott & E.T. Maybe you would want to make a Peanut Butter Pie topped with loads of Reese's Pieces since that was a key ingredient in the film. Or maybe there is a quote from a movie you can base your pie from. Be creative! There's no right answer, no wrong answer! Just have FUN!

Posting date for our first challenge is coming up quick...October 8!

Once you have posted on the 8th, scoot back over here to Pie Central and leave your comment on this post so that we know you are ready for us to visit!

Welcome to "You Want Pies With That?"

So glad you dropped by!

After being inspired by the movie "Waitress" and all of the creative pie baking Keri Russell's character did, we have set up this once-a-month Pie Extravaganza! Haven't seen the movie? No big deal. But you should! It's cute! Ever heard of a "Bad-Baby Pie"? An "I Hope Roy Don't Kill Me Pie"? Well, she was creative like that! We want to be, too, and this crazy competition is our way of nudging ourselves in the right direction. So, how's it work?

• What do we bake? There is a theme each month (always announced on the 18th), and the winner of each challenge will choose the next month's theme. Your goal is to create a one-of-a-kind pie based on that month's theme.
• When do we post? You can post your pie (to your own blog) at any time. However, your entry is due on or before the 13th of every month. Then, on the 14th, we will post the round-up here on the Pie Site.
• How do other people know I baked? If you emailed your entry in correctly (including the permalink to your pie post, a 300pix picture of your pie and your name & the name of your blog), then you'll be included in the round-up, where everyone will be able to see your pretty pie!
  
• How do we vote? Only the Pie Baking Participants get a say. There will be a special post here on the Pie Site to leave your comment, voting for your 2 favorite creations. We'll have 2 days to vote, and then the winner is announced on the 16th. The winner will then get back to us within 2 days with her selected theme for the next month's challenge.
• What do you win? You'll get bragging rights for a month. :) And you get to choose that all important theme! It's all about the FUN people!
• What are the rules? Let's not get too fussy with rules. But keep it a pie, people. Tarts, yep, those are great. Anything with an official crust is perfect. Hot, cold, sweet, savory... the choice is yours. Have FUN with it!!
• How can I join? Excellent question! Just submit your monthly entry to pieswiththat (at) gmail (dot) com and you're automatically a part of the round-up and bloglist!!
